Pretty nice place. We went to explore the campground before a few nights camping trip there. Bathrooms clean, playground for the kids, covered tables and grills, and deer. Though the beach front water was a bit merky, it is a lake. Docks looked good. Staff in campground was visible which is comforting.

Great place for picnics. Family fun. Even if you do not have a boat.

Foolishly thought we'd try JJ's again, drove all the way down the lake from Marker 4 and, regardless of the fact that the website, once again, said they were open after the season from Wednesday through Sunday, they were closed. Woman at he register in the marina was much nicer as THEY WERE ALSO CLOSED AND NO ONE WAS THERE. While we were wasting our time and gas there, a young woman walked up the dock to ask if we knew where she could rent a boat or PWC. We sent her in the marina side where, she, of course, was NOT ABLE TO GET IN, MUCH LESS RENT ANYTHING. Website updates really aren't that hard, people.

The marina is great. If you are a local it's best to buy the annual park pass for $40

Good fishing and swimming plenty of deer wandering around & nice facility's.

What a poorly-run establishment. Drive on up to Starkey Marina--where we ended up each time--and enjoy a place that's actually open, seems to care about customers, has good food and a friendly staff and much a cleaner, nicer rental fleet. Oh, and the restrooms are spotless and they even have soap and towels for your use! Seriously.

On that part of the lake again and intended to eat at JJ's which, according to their website, was open. It was not and the woman at the register in the marina was exceptionally rude. There's NO excuse for that.

I can't believe all the great reviews this place gets. Been there three times and, the first one, we were in dire need of fuel and racing a thunderstorm (with lightning) home. The two guys on the dock said they'd just shut the pumps down and refused to turn them back on, regardless of the impending danger to our lives. We made it to a different sheltered dock and were able to get gas from an individual and make it home.
